In Harbour lights I wanted to create an abstract painting which was full of the movement of water and the rippled lights of the buildings surrounding it

The paint has been allowed to dry quickly in areas to encourage texture within the paint to represent the shaggy mane of the grand big cat

Champagne bubbles of blossom reach ever upwards toward the light

I created an expressionist under painting whilst reflecting upon the winds and weathered landscape

Large at 100 x 100, the painting has been created with impasto oil and enamel paints and is incredibly vibrant. Small blue violets are hidden within the foliage to offset the intense warmth of the large yellow sunflowers and emerald green leaves balance the composition. Glimmers of gold light are scattered throughout the background
