College Hall, Wellesley College Size:12x16 created in 1938At the time it was completed in 1875, College Hall comprised the entirety of Wellesley College. At the time, it was one of the largest buildings in the United States, stretching 475 feet in length and rising four stories high. This image, captured in 1908, sees College Hall rising above the trees as the viewer looks across Lake Waban. Only six years after this photograph was captured, a fire ravaged College Hall, destroying nearly the entire building
