VINTAGE INDIAN KANTHA NO. 8 - multi colored rug Washing helps soften and flattenA Kantha is a type of embroidery craft, that uses old saris that are stacked on each other to make quilts, light blankets and bedspreads. The entire cloth is covered with running stitches, depicting beautiful motifs of flowers, abstract patterns and geometrical shapes. The stitching on the cloth gives it a slightly wrinkled, wavy effect. In many cases you will also find patches and repairs, sometimes the Kantha is all patchwork anything goes! In most
