Early Grueby Pottery Tile Fireplace Surround Fragment Dreamworld Scituate MA Nursery Rhyme It shows a cowboyRare one of a kind tile by Grueby Pottery from the estate of Thomas Lawson's Dreamworld in Scituate Massachusetts. Designed by Vesper Lincoln George (1865 1934) and installed in 1902, this is the lower right piece of the surround. Pictured in The Brickbuilder, Oct 1902 (see last picture) the tile displays a rolly polly doll, a horse pull toy, a ball of yarn and building blocks spelling out the name LAWSON.
