It dates to the 1930's and is made in the style of an isho kimono dansu clothing chest. It's almost certain that this chest was made for a high end shop for storing and selling kimonos. This chest is unusual as persimmon wood was used almost exclusively for smaller kodansu table cabinets. Persimmon wood tends to warp and requires a skilled craftsman
