Brass & Iron Bound Chest On Wheels From Gujarat - 19th Century Opera Chests Made from reclaimed teak woodThis antique Indian chest dates to the 19th century and is from the state of Gujarat. It is constructed from teak wood and is bound with iron and reinforced brass. It has been mounted on four wheels for easy transportation from room to room. One of its most noticeable features is its beautifully carved lock plate which is carved in the style most often found in Gujarat. It has a wonderful patina but has been conservatively restored in our workshops.
