Two helix types: straight (constant angle) and progressive (two cuts for different shift points). Helix angle alters belt pressure and shift behavior. An overly aggressive helix angle without secondary spring adjustment can cause belt slip. If rpms are too low: a shallower range helix and or a stiffer secondary spring raises rpm and increases belt squeeze.
