Historical Staffordshire copper luster creamer with a black and white transfer printed portrait of Lafayette flanked by Fame and Triumph in Grecian garb holding a laurel wreath above his head. The reverse shows Cornwallis's surrender at Yorktown on Oct 19, 1781. The image is after the painting by Robert Smirke published in 1787. Lafayette was at the surrender, and we earlier offered an engraving from France
