Horse Khunti Turban Hanger From Rajasthan - 19th Century Pillars Dimensions: Width 9 × DepthThis Indian turban hanger (called a khunti in Hindi) has been carved in the shape of a horse and is stylistically from Southern Rajasthan. This would have been used daily for turbans or a clothes peg. It would have been one of a pair on either side of a door. They are often seen in palaces & houses of the wealthier classes, normally plastered into the wall, other animals like parrots and peacocks are quite common too. See the final photo for details
