Akari 50EN CH24Promo designed in 1942Akari 50EN Pendant by Isamu Noguchi for Vitra. In 1951, Isamu Noguchi, an American Japanese artist and designer, began designing the Akari Light Sculptures. Over the years, he has created over 100 models, naming the series "Akari", a term in Japanese that means brightness, lightness, and light. The Akaris are carefully crafted using an elaborate process that involves stretching bamboo rods over Noguchi's original wooden moulds to create the frame.
