The vase is decorated with a powerful dragon coiling amongst swirling clouds

It has a wonderful patina but has been conservatively restored in our workshops

these would have opened from the top and the fronts would have been closed

and the rich golden patina developed over more than a century of use

Painted Red & Black Gansu Sideboard - 19th Century Clothing and has been sympathetically restoredThis exquisite antique sideboard from Gansu province in Northern China was used for storing clothing and grain by the nomadic people of Gansu and the surrounding areas in the 19th century. The cabinet doors are beautifully decorated with household objects with a central panel depicting a high ranking Chinese official traveling in a wheeled palanquin accompanied by guards on horseback. The front doors have been modified from the original closed front
