Carved Black Lacquer Elm Altar Table From Gansu -19th Century Material - Iron 9 x 9 x 7This ornate antique Chinese altar table would have been used as a family altar in the northern province of Gansu. It dates to the 19th century and stands taller than many other altar tables we sell and would be perfect in a hallway or large room. Its four drawers and underside panels have beautiful deep carvings of floral scenes and animals, painted in rich but muted colours that blend in perfectly with the dark lacquer background.
