It dates to circa 1910 at the end of the Qing Dynasty (1644 1912) and has its original brass. This export work was inspired by the beautiful black lacquer works of art created in China during the early & mid Qing dynasty. One such example is a black lacquer gilt throne found in the Summer Palace. The paintwork is gold paint, rather than the giltwork
