Constructed of brass, on loop for suspension with its period original ribbon affixed to an aluminum pentagonal backplate with a horizontal pinback, the obverse consisting of a circular laurel leaf wreath, joined together at the bottom by ribbon and at the top by a five pointed star, surrounding a central inscription of , the reverse bearing a raised date of 13 1945 (13 FEBRUARY 1945, the date of the liberation of Budapest, typically applied to
