Germany, Imperial. An Observer Badge, c. 1918 Newly Listed Instituted 21 May 1725 by(Beobachterabzeichen). Constructed of silvered brass with multi coloured enamels, the obverse consisting of an oval laurel and oak leaf wreath, joined together at the bottom by ribbon, topped by a German State Crown, surrounding a central square enameled medallion consisting of a black and white checkered centrepiece situated within a red border, the reverse with a crimped hinge and vertical pinback meeting a round wire catch, unmarked, measuring 44.
