Constructed of silvered bronze, the obverse bearing a raised German national eagle clutching an edelweiss defaced by a Sturmabteilung (SA) insignia, flanked by an inscription of DER FHRER DER SA GRUPPE HOCHLAND (THE LEADER OF SA GROUP HOCHLAND), circumscribed by an inscription of WINTERKMPFE DER GLIEDERUNGEN DER N.
