Instituted in 1943 by General Francisco Franco. 1965 to present issued. Red Distinction. A red enameled Arrow Cross in silver gilt, obverse centre featuring a surmounted enameled white and green sword on a gilded background inscribed AL MERITO POLICIAL (to Police Merit), the reverse with buttonhole for attachment, measuring 19. 25 mm (w) x 19. 02 mm (h), with minor toned silver, very good.
