Germany, Heer. A Kuban Shield United Republic of (La Orden Ana Betancourt al(Heer Kubanschild). Constructed of bronzed magnetic metal, the obverse features a shield bearing a stylized map of the Kuban region. It is topped by an inscription of KUBAN and a Wehrmacht eagle clutching a wreathed mobile swastika, flanked by the date 1943. With magnetic metal backplate, and a field grey wool liner, with paper backer, unmarked, the shield measuring 52. 0 mm (w) x 62. 0 mm (h), in worn condition.
