表紙に使われているプレスコットンは、テント地を作るときに使われていた機械でプレスしています。使い込むうちに、ジーンズのように元の生地の生成り色が少しずつ見えてきて、柔らかくなり手に馴染んできます。自然なコットンの風合いを残すためにあえて防水加工はせず、軽い撥水加工がしてあります。天然素材なので、まれに繊維の節が強く出ることがあります。また織糸の太さは均一ではありませんが、これこそがコットンの持ち味です。自然な素材なので、表面に若干のしわが出ることがあります。
